Gute Frage! Und leider nicht so leicht zu beantworten, wie Wyrdstuff berichtet. Es geht hier natürlich nicht um eine spiritistische Sitzung in der alle Anwesenden auf Lovecrafts Geist warten, sondern unser Thema ist die SEHR interessante Dokumentation über Howard Philips Lovecraft. Hier kommen Autoren wie Ramsey Campbell, Peter Straub und Neil Gaiman ebenso zu Wort wie Guillermo del Toro und John Carpenter. Allerdings scheint es wohl nicht so einfach zu sein die Dokumentation an den Mann/die Frau zu bringen:

A lot of eager fans have been writing us either through our lovecraft@wyrdstuff.com address or through our My Space page. Most have been asking when Lovecraft: Fear Of The Unknown will be available on DVD.

At this point all I can say is hang in there a little while longer. We at Wyrd are talking with different distributors about putting this out there in the way H.P. Lovecraft deserves. Obviously we would love to have the film handled by a major distributor so it can reach the most people. We have screeners at many such places (with initials like IE, ABE, and TWC).

With regards to seeing the doc on cable, we’re talking to the usual suspects. Believe it or not, a certain genre channel has already passed. They initially passed on Doctor Who, too, so we’re in good company. Maybe they’ll reconsider.

Documentaries in general are a tough sell, but it will be worth the wait. I’ve been compiling over an hour’s worth of extra interviews for the eventual DVD. That means, in addition to the 90 minute documentary, there will be close to 3 hours of Lovecraft discussion from Del Toro, Gaiman, Kiernan, Straub, Carpenter & Co.

Ich hoffe sehr das die Doku demnächst erscheinen wird, denn sie sieht einfach fantastisch aus und es wurden ganz sicher die richtigen Leute interviewt! Aber wie heißt es doch so schön: The waiting time is the hardest time… Also weiter warten auf LOVECRAFT.
